The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism has issued a statement regarding President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s upcoming visit to Vietnam.
It states that the President will be on a state visit to Vietnam from the 4th to the 6th of May.
During this visit, the President is scheduled to hold official talks with the President and Prime Minister of Vietnam.
Meanwhile, it is stated that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is also scheduled to meet with a number of senior dignitaries, including the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The statement also states that the President is also scheduled to attend the United Nations Vesak Day celebration in Ho Chi Minh City as the chief guest, and the President is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the event, the ministry statement states.
The statement further states that the visit is expected to see the signing of several MoUs between the two sides and that the President is also expected to engage with the business community.
The President is also scheduled to be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath and a group of senior government officials.

එහි දැක්වෙන්නේ ජනාධිපතිවරයා එළැඹෙන මැයි මස 04 වැනි දින සිට 06 වැනි දින දක්වා වියට්නාමයේ රාජ්ය සංචාරයක නිරතවන බවයි.
මෙම සංචාරයේදී ජනාධිපතිවරයා වියට්නාම් ජනාධිපතිවරයා සහ අගමැතිවරයා සමග නිල සාකච්ඡා පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතයි.
මේ අතර වියට්නාමයේ කොමියුනිස්ට් පක්ෂයේ මහලේකම් ඇතුළු ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ සම්භාවනීය අමුත්තන් රැසක්ද ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක විසින් හමුවීමට නියමිත බවත් එහි දැක්වෙනවා.
එමෙන්ම හෝ චි මිං නගරයේ පැවැත්වෙන එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ වෙසක් දින උත්සවයේ ප්රධාන ආරාධිතයා ලෙස ද ජනාධිපතිවරයා සහභාගී වීමට නියමිත අතර, එහි දී ජනාධිපතිවරයා විසින් ප්රධාන දේශනයක්ද පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත බවයි අමාත්යංශ නිවේදනයේ සඳහන්ව ඇත්තේ.
තවද මෙම සංචාරයේදී දෙපාර්ශ්වය අතර අවබෝධතා ගිවිසුම් කිහිපයකට අත්සත් තැබීමද අපේක්ෂා කරන අතර ව්යාපාරික ප්රජාව සමග ද එක්වීමට ජනාධිපතිවරයා අපේක්ෂා කරන බවත් එම නිවේදනයේ වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන්.
