A Public Health Inspector working at the Karadiyanaru Public Health Inspectorate Office has been arrested by the investigating officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption for accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,000.
It is reported that the suspect was arrested at the complainant’s house at around 10.49 am (29) following a complaint filed by a resident of the Karadiyanaru area when he received the money.
The suspect had told the complainant that if the complainant inspected the new house being constructed and did not approve its design, the construction was an offence and that action would be taken under the law, a fine of Rs. 50,000 would be imposed.
The suspect has also said that without taking such legal action, the necessary arrangements for the construction of the house under construction without any hindrance are required, and that the suspect himself draws up a plan similar to the house under construction and approves the plan.
The suspect has then initially taken Rs. 5,000 from that amount.
Later, the suspect has come to the complainant’s house yesterday to receive another Rs. 6,000 from the remaining amount demanded as a bribe.
The arrested suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Eravur Magistrate’s Court.

රුපියල් 6,000ක මුදලක් අල්ලස් වශයෙන් ලබාගැනීම හේතුවෙන් කරදියනාරු මහජන සෞඛ්‍ය පරීක්ෂක කාර්යාලයේ සේවයේ නියුතු මහජන සෞඛ්‍ය පරීක්ෂකවරයෙකුව අල්ලස් හෝ දුෂණ චෝදනා විමර්ශන කොමිෂන් සභාවේ විමර්ශන නිලධාරීන් විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන තිබෙනවා .
කරදියනාරු ප්‍රදේශයේ පදිංචි පුද්ගලයෙකු විසින් කරන ලද පැමිණිල්ලකට අනුව (29) පෙ.ව.10.49 ට පමණ පැමිණිලිකාරියගේ නිවසේ දී සැකකරු විසින් මුදල් ලබාගත් අවස්ථාවේ දී ඔහුව අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇති බවයි වාර්තා වන්නේ .
පැමිණිලිකාරිය විසින් ඉදිකරමින් පවතින නව නිවස පරීක්ෂා කර, එහි සැලසුම අනුමත නොකර, ඉදිකිරීම වරදක් බවට පවසා නීති මඟින් කටයුතු කළහොත් රු.50,000 ක දඩයක් නියම වන බවට සැකකරු විසින් පැමිණිලිකාරියට පවසා තිබෙනවා .
එමෙන්ම සැකකරු පවසා ඇත්තේ එවැනි නීතිමය ක්‍රියාමාර්ග නොගෙන, ඉදිකරමින් පවතින නිවස බාධාවකින් තොරව ඉදිකිරීමට අවශ්‍ය කටයුතු සලසා, ඒ සඳහා ඉදිකරමින් පවතින නිවස ආකාරයටම සැකකරු විසින් ම සැලසුමක් ඇඳ එම සැලසුම අනුමත කර දීමට රු.12,000ක මුදලක් අවශ්‍ය බවයි .
ඉන්පසුව එකී මුදලින් රු.5,000ක් මුදලක් සැකකරු විසින් මුලින් ලබාගෙන තිබෙනවා .
පසුව සැකකරු පැමිණිලිකාරියගේ නිවසට පැමිණ ඇත්තේ අල්ලස් ලෙස ඉල්ලු ඉතිරි මුදලින් තවත් 6,000ක මුදලක් ලබාගැනීමටයි .
අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරු එරාවුර් මහෙස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිතව තිබෙනවා .
