Former Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya says that he should know to be careful if he has death threats.
“Many of those who say they have death threats have died. Those who were involved in some dispute. They should know, they should be careful. Not to keep weapons. You can either leave Sri Lanka or stay home”
The former Election Commissioner stated this while addressing a media conference.

“තමන්ට මරණ තර්ජන තියෙනවා කියන අයනෙ ඔය හුඟ දෙනෙක්ම මැරිලා තියෙන්නේ. මොනවා හරි ආරවුලකට මැදිවෙච්චි අය. ඒ අය දැන ගන්න ඕන, තමන් පරිස්සම් වෙන්න. ආයුධ තියන් ඉන්න නෙමෙයි. ලංකාවෙන් ගිහිල්ලා හරි නැත්නම් ගෙදරට වෙලා ඉන්න හරි පුළුවන් නෙ”
