The Ministry of Transport and Highways says that all depot managers have been given one month to bring all depots of the Sri Lanka Transport Board to a profitable state.
Commenting on this, Deputy Minister of Transport Dr. Prasanna Gunasena states that a decision will be taken in the future regarding depot managers who do not do so.
There are one hundred and seven SLTB bus depots operating across the country.
The Ministry says that only 60 depots are profitable.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Media said that after the new government came to power, nearly twenty SLTB depot managers were removed and other people were appointed.
The Deputy Minister further said that the depot managers were given a long time to bring the SLTB depots to a profitable state.

මින් ලාභ ලබන තත්වයේ පවතින්නේ ඩිපෝ 60ක් පමණක් බව අමාත්යාංශය පවසයි.
මේ අතර නව රජය බලයට පත්වීමෙන් පසු ලංගම ඩිපෝ කළමනාකරුවන් විස්සකට ආසන්න පිරිසක් ඉවත් කර වෙනත් පුද්ගලයන් පත් කළ බවද නියෝජ්ය මාධ්යවරයා පැවසීය.
ලංගම ඩිපෝ ලාභ ලබන තත්වයට පත්කර ගැනීම සඳහා ඩිපෝ කළමනාකරුවන්ට ලොකු කාලයක් දුන් බව නියෝජ්ය අමාත්යවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් පැවසීය.
