Students from Ampara Kavantissa Central College, Balangoda Udagama Maha Vidyalaya and Gampola St. Joseph’s Girls’ School visited the President’s House today (24).
Under this program, jointly implemented by the President’s Office, the Ministry of Education and the Parliamentary Public Relations Division, schoolchildren have been given the opportunity to visit the Presidential Secretariat, the President’s House, the Colombo Port City and Parliament in relation to their fields of study.
A program to educate the teaching staff and students of these colleges on the history of Parliament, the role of the executive and the rule of law was also implemented in parallel with this.
In addition, valuable plants were donated to these colleges and valuable books were donated to their libraries in line with the “Clean Sri Lanka” program.
Addressing the students, Presidential Media Advisor and Senior Journalist Chandana Suriyabandara stated that a country and a society can only be built by all citizens coming together.
Suriyabandara also stated that even though the world is changing rapidly with artificial intelligence technology, it is the responsibility of teachers to build an ethical citizen.
Pointing out that there are no societies called difficult villages or difficult schools and that success can be achieved through dedication to one’s goals, he pointed out that the current President also rose to the presidency from a remote village like Thambuttegama as a result of dedication and unwavering pursuit of goals.
Senior Additional Secretary to the President K. M. N. Kumarasinghe, Presidential Advisor (Legal) Attorney-at-Law J.M. Wijebandara, Director (Tri-Force Coordination) Air Commodore Asiri Gallage, Assistant Director Major Nadeeka Dangolla, Principals of the Science Schools who participated in the tour, teaching staff and a group of parents were present on this occasion.
පළාත් තුනක පාසල් සිසුහු ජනාධිපති මන්දිරය නරඹති
අම්පාර කාවන්තිස්ස මධ්ය විද්යාලය, බලංගොඩ උඩගම මහා විද්යාලය හා ගම්පොළ ශාන්ත ජෝෂප් බාලිකා විද්යාලය යන විද්යාලවල ශිෂ්ය ශිෂ්යයාවෝ අද (24) ජනාධිපති මන්දිරය නැරඹීමට පැමිණියහ.
ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලය, අධ්යාපන අමාත්යාංශය හා පාර්ලිමේන්තු ජනසන්නිවේදන අංශය ඒකාබද්ධව ක්රියාත්මක කරන මෙම වැඩසටහන යටතේ පාසල් දරුවන්ගේ අධ්යයන ක්ෂේත්රවලට අදාළව ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලය, ජනාධිපති මන්දිරය, කොළඹ වරාය නගරය හා පාර්ලිමේන්තුව නැරඹීමට අවස්ථාව උදා කර දී තිබේ.
පාර්ලිමේන්තු ඉතිහාසය, විධායකයේ කාර්යභාරය සහ නීතියේ ආධිපත්යය සම්බන්ධව එම විද්යාලවල ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සහ සිසු සිසුවියන් දැනුම්වත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනක්ද මෙයට සමගාමීව ක්රියාත්මක කෙරිණි.
මීට අමතරව, “ක්ලීන් ශ්රී ලංකා” වැඩසටහනට සමගාමීව මෙම විද්යාලවලට වටිනා ශාක හා පුස්තකාලවලට වටිනා පොත් ලබාදීමද සිදුකෙරිණි.
මෙහිදී සිසු සිසුවියන් ඇමතූ ජනාධිපති මාධ්ය උපදේශක, ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ මාධ්යවේදී චන්දන සූරියබණ්ඩාර මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, රටත්, සමාජයක් ගොඩනැඟිය හැක්කේ සියලු පුරවැසියන් එකට එක්වීමෙන් පමණක් බවයි.
කෘත්රිම බුද්ධි තාක්ෂණය සමඟ ලෝකය වේගයෙන් වෙනස් වෙමින් පැවතියත් ආචාරධාර්මික පුරවැසියෙක් ගොඩනැඟීම ගුරුවරුන්ගේ වගකීමක් බවද සූරියබණ්ඩාර මහතා ප්රකාශ කළේය.
දුෂ්කර ගම් හෝ දුෂ්කර පාසල් කියා සමාජ නොමැති බවත් තම අරමුණු වෙනුවෙන් කැපවීමෙන් සාර්ථකත්වය ළඟා කර ගත හැකි බවත් පෙන්වා දුන් ඒ මහතා වත්මන් ජනාධිපතිවරයාද තඹුත්තේගම වැනි ඈත ගමක සිට ජනාධිපතිධුරය දක්වා පැමිණියේ කැපවීමෙන් හා නොසැලී අරමුණු කරා යෑමේ ප්රතිඵලයක් ලෙසින් බව පෙන්වා දුන්නේය.
ජනාධිපති ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ අතිරේක ලේකම් කේ. එම්. එන්. කුමාරසිංහ, ජනාධිපති උපදේශක (නීති) නීතිඥ ජේ.එම්. විජේබණ්ඩාර, අධ්යක්ෂ (ත්රිවිධ හමුදා සම්බන්ධීකරණ ) එයාර් කොමදෝරු ආසිරි ගාල්ලගේ, සහකාර අධ්යක්ෂ මේජර් නදීක දංගොල්ල යන මහත්වරුද, චාරිකාවට සහභාගි වූ විද්යාවල විදුහල්පතිවරුද, ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය හා දෙමාපියන් පිරිසක්ද මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ.
