A request to all citizens not to come to Kandy until further notice..
Kandy District Secretary Indika Udawatte requests all citizens to refrain from coming to Kandy city until further notice.
Participating in a special media briefing to inform the decisions of the Dalada Viharaya Steering Committee, he said that the decision was taken as more than 400,000 devotees have already gathered in Kandy for the Sri Dalada Viharaya.
He also said that this request is being made as there is a tendency for health problems to arise if devotees enter Kandy city.

ඒ මහතා දළදා වන්දනා මෙහෙයුම් කමිටු තීරණ දැනුම්දීමේ විශේෂ මාධ්ය හමුවට එක්වෙමින් පවසා සිටියේ, සිරි දළදා වන්දනාව වෙනුවෙන් මේ වනවිටත් ලක්ෂ 4කට වඩා වැඩි සැහැදැවතුන් පිරිසක් මහනුවරට එක්රොක් වී සිටින බැවින් එම තීරණය ගත් බවය.
තවදුරටත් සැදැවතුන් මහනුවර නගරයට ඇතුළු වුවහොත් සෞඛ්ය ගැටලු ඇතිවීමේ ප්රවණතාවයක් පවතින බැවින් මෙම ඉල්ලීම සිදුකරන බව ද ඒ මහතා පැවසීය.
