The Department of Inland Revenue states that about 10 million of the country’s population over the age of 18 have now obtained a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
Deputy Commissioner General of the department, B.K.S. Shantha, made this statement while participating in a press conference held in Colombo.

මේ වන විට වයස අවුරුදු 18 වැඩි මෙරට ජනගහනයෙන් මිලියන 10ක් පමණ මේ වන විට බදුගෙවන්නන් හදුනා ගැනීමේ අංකය හෙවත් ටින් අංකය ලබා ගෙන ඇති බව දේශීය ආදායම් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව සඳහන් කරනවා.
එම දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නියෝජ්ය කොමසාරිස් ජනරාල් බී කේ එස් ශාන්ත කොළඹ දී කැදවා තිබූ ප්රවෘත්ති සාකච්ඡාවකට එක්වෙමිනුයි මේ බව කියා සිටියා.
