The Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, left for the Vatican this morning (23).
Cardinal Ranjith reportedly departed from the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake at 9.30 am to attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday, April 26.
Pope Francis, the first Latin American leader of the Roman Catholic Church, passed away on Monday (April 21) at the age of 88 after suffering a stroke.
His funeral, which is expected to be attended by a large crowd, will take place on Saturday (April 26) at 10 am. It will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the square in front of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

රෝමානු කතෝලික පල්ලියේ පළමු ලතින් ඇමරිකානු නායකයා වූ ෆ්රැන්සිස් පාප් වහන්සේ සඳුදා (අප්රේල් 21) වයස අවුරුදු 88 දී ආඝාතයකින් ස්වර්ගස්ථ වූහ.
විශාල ජනකායක් සහභාගී වනු ඇතැයි අපේක්ෂා කරන උන්වහන්සේගේ අවමංගල්යය සෙනසුරාදා (අප්රේල් 26) පෙ.ව. 10.00 ට වතිකානුවේ ශාන්ත පීතර බැසිලිකාව ඉදිරිපිට චතුරශ්රයේදී සිදුකෙරේ
