The Court of Appeal today (04) ordered the relevant returning officers to re-accept nearly 37 nomination papers that were rejected for the upcoming local government elections.
The order was issued by a bench of Court of Appeal judges comprising Acting President of the Court of Appeal, Mohamed Lafar Tahir, and K.P. Fernando, after examining the writ petitions filed by recognized political parties and independent groups against the rejection of their nomination papers.

ඉදිරි පළාත් පාලන ඡන්ද විමසීම සඳහා භාරදී ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කෙරුණු නාමයෝජනා පත්‍ර 37 කට ආසන්න සංඛ්‍යාවක් යළි භාරගන්නා ලෙස අභියාචනාධිකරණය අද (04) අදාළ තේරීම් භාර නිලධාරීන්ට නියෝග කර තිබෙනවා.
සිය නාමයෝජනා පත්‍ර ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කිරීමට එරෙහිව පිළිගත් දේශපාලන පක්ෂ හා ස්වාධීන කණ්ඩායම් විසින් ගොනුකර තිබූ රිට් පෙත්සම් විභාග කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව අභියාචනාධිකරණයේ වැඩබලන සභාපති මොහොමඩ් ලෆාර් තාහීර් සහ කේ.පී.ප්‍රනාන්දු යන මහත්වරුන්ගෙන් සමන්විත අභියාචනාධිකරණ විනිසුරු මඩුල්ල විසින් මෙම නියෝගය නිකුත් කර ඇත.
