The Consumer Affairs Authority says that a number of special raids and investigation programs have already been implemented for the upcoming festive season.
The relevant raids are scheduled to be implemented until April 25, the authority said.
The relevant officers have been instructed to inspect major wholesale stores and warehouses from tomorrow (25) to prevent expired food and products with altered information from entering the market and to avoid injustices and problems that may occur to consumers in the market during the festive season.
Also, during the relevant period, more attention is to be paid to retail stores, sales and mobile business activities, including supermarkets.
Meanwhile, in addition to essential goods, clothing, durable goods and electrical appliances are sold in high demand during this period, so officers have been instructed to pay more attention to such shops.
Officers have been instructed to pay more attention to the sale and concealment of Kiri Samba and Samba rice at higher prices during raids on essential goods.
Consumers are also to be informed to be more careful when making purchases online during this period.
Special teams will also be deployed for raids and investigations of shops during this period, and officers have been instructed to strictly enforce the law against traders who commit errors.
The Consumer Affairs Authority said that consumers can complain to the authority during the festive season on the 1977 short number during office hours and obtain necessary advice.

එහිදී හෙට (25) දිනයේ සිට ප්රධාන තොග අළෙවිසැල් සහ ගබඩා පරීක්ෂා කරමින් කල් ඉකුත් වූ ආහාර හා තොරතුරු වෙනස් කරන ලද භාණ්ඩ වෙළෙඳපොළට පැමිණීම වැළැක්වීමටත් උත්සව සමයේදී වෙළෙඳපොළ තුළ පාරිභෝගිකයින්ට සිදුවිය හැකි අසාධාරණයන් හා ගැටලු මගහැරවීම සඳහාත් කටයුතු කරන ලෙස අදාළ නිලධාරීන්ට උපදෙස් ලබා දී තිබේ.
එමෙන්ම අදාල කාලසීමාව තුළදී සුපිරි වෙෙළඳසැල්ද ඇතුළුව සිල්ලර වෙෙළඳසැල්, සේල් හා ජංගම ව්යාපාරික කටයුතු සම්බන්ධයෙන් ද වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමුකිරීමට නියමිතය.
මේ අතර, අත්යාවශ්ය භාණ්ඩ වලට අමතරව ඇඳුම් පැළඳුම්, කල් පවතින භාණ්ඩ සහ විදුලි උපකරණ මෙම කාලසීමාව තුළදී වැඩි ඉල්ලුමක් සහිතව අලෙවි වන බැවින් එවැනි වෙෙළඳසැල් සම්බන්ධව ද වැඩි අවධානයන් යොමු කරන ලෙස නිලධාරින් වෙත උපදෙස් ලබාදී තිබෙනවා.
නිලධාරීන්ට උපදෙස් ලබාදී ඇත්තේ, අත්යාවශ්ය භාණ්ඩ සම්බන්ධව සිදුකරනු ලබන වැටලීම්වලදී කීරි සම්බා සහ සම්බා සහල් වැඩි මිලට අලෙවි කිරීම හා සඟවා තබා ගැනීම සම්බන්ධව වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමු කරන ලෙසයි.
එමෙන්ම මෙම කාලසීමාව තුළදී අන්තර්ජාලය හරහා සිදුකරන මිලදී ගැනීම්වලදී වඩාත් සැලකිලිමත් වන ලෙස පාරිභෝගිකයන් දැනුම්වත් කිරීමට නියමිතය.
තවද මෙම කාලසීමාව තුළ වෙළෙඳසැල් වැටලීම් සහ විමර්ශන සඳහා විශේෂ කණ්ඩායම් යෙදවීමට ද කටයුතු කරනු ලබන අතර වැරදි සිදු කරනු ලබන වෙළෙදුන්ට එරෙහිව නීතිය තදින්ම ක්රියාත්මක කිරීමට ද නිලධාරීන්ට උපදෙස් ලබාදී තිබේ.
පාරිභෝගික අධිකාරිය පැවසුවේ උත්සව සමය තුළදී පාරිභෝගිකයින්ට ඇතිවන ගැටලු කාර්යාල වේලාව තුළදී 1977 කෙටි දුරකථන අංකය ඔස්සේ එම අධිකාරිය වෙත පැමිණිලි කිරීමටත්, අවශ්ය උපදෙස් ලබාගැනීමටත් හැකියාව ඇති බවය.
