The Minister said that free visa facility has been provided to 39 countries so far and that it has been decided to provide the same facility to several more countries in the future.
The Minister pointed out that by providing the same visa facility to several more countries, the number of countries providing free visa facility will increase to more than 40.
Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath stated this while participating in the parliamentary debate today (15).
Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath further expressed his views there,
“Currently, we are providing visa facility to 39 countries without charging any money. It has been decided to provide free visa charge facility and it has been approved by the cabinet. There is a proposal to include several more countries in it. Along with that, after the gazette is prepared, we will present it to this Parliament when this budget debate is over. Then, more than 40 countries will have opportunities to bring more tourists to our Sri Lanka under the free visa charge facility.”
මෙරටට ඇතුළුවීම සඳහා නොමිලේ වීසා
මේ වනවිට රටවල් 39ක් සඳහා නොමිලේ වීසා පහසුකම ලබාදී ඇති බවත් ඉදිරියේදී තවත් රටවල් කිහිපයකට එම පහසුකම ලබාදීමට තීරණය කර ඇති බවත් අමාත්යවරයා පවසා සිටියා.
එලෙස තවත් රටවල් කිහිපයකට එම වීසා පහසුකම ලබාදීම තුළින් නොමිලේ වීසා පහසුකම ලබාදෙන රටවල් සංඛ්යාව 40කට වැඩි වැඩිවන බව අමාත්යවරයා පෙන්වා දුනි.
අද (15) පාර්ලිමේන්තු විවාදයට එක්වෙමින් විදේශ අමාත්ය විජිත හේරත් මහතා ඒ බව සඳහන් කළේය.
එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ විදේශ අමාත්ය විජිත හේරත් මහතා,
“දැනට අපි රටවල් 39කට මුදල් අය කරන්නේ නැතුව වීසා පහසුකම ලබාදෙන්නේ. free visa Charg පහසුකම ලබාදෙන්න තීන්දු කරලා තියෙනවා කැබිනට් එකේ අනුමත කරලා තියෙනවා. තවත් රටවල් කිහිපයක් එයට ඇතුළත් කිරීමේ යෝජනාවක් තියෙනවා. ඒකත් එක්ක ඒ ගැසට් එක හැදුවට පස්සේ මේ අයවැය විවාදය අවසන් වෙනකොට මේ පාර්ලිමේන්තුවට අපි ඉදිරිපත් කරනවා ඒ ගැන. එතකොට රටවල් 40කට වැඩි ප්රමාණයකට ඒ free visa Charg පහසුකම යටතේ අපේ ලංකාවට වැඩිපුර සංචාරකයින් ගෙන්වා ගැනීමේ අවස්ථා ඇතිවෙනවා.”
