Steps have been taken to deploy Special Task Force officers to expressway services since last night (10), says Road Development Authority Director General F.M.P. Suriya Bandara.
It is stated that steps have been taken to deploy these officers for life-saving and firefighting services in case of accidents on the Southern Expressway, Southern Expressway Extension, Colombo Outer Ring Road, New Kelani Bridge and Colombo-Katunayake Roads.
With the ‘Justice’ operation carried out during the previous government, the Ministry of Defense had taken steps to remove the Police Special Task Force from those activities a year ago.
අධිවේගී මාර්ග සේවා සඳහා ඊයේ (10) රාත්රියේ සිට විශේෂ කාර්ය බළකා නිලධාරීන් අනුයුක්ත කිරීමට පියවර ගත් බව මාර්ග සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ අධ්යක්ෂ ජනරාල් එෆ්.එම්.පි. සූරිය බණ්ඩාර පවසනවා.
දක්ෂිණ අධිවේගී මාර්ගය, දක්ෂිණ අධිවේගී මාර්ග දිගුව, කොළඹ පිටත වටරවුම් මාර්ගය, නව කැලණි පාලම සහ කොළඹ කටුනායක මාර්ගයන්හි සිදුවන හදිසි අනතුරුවලදී ජීවිත ගලවා ගැනීම් සහ ගිනි නිවීම් සේවා කටයුතු සඳහා මෙම නිලධාරීන් යෙදවීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇති බවයි සඳහන් වෙන්නේ.
පසුගිය රජය සමයේදී සිදුකළ ‘යුක්තිය’ මෙහෙයුමත් සමග, මීට වසරකට පෙර එම කටයුතුවලින් පොලිස් විශේෂ කාර්ය බළකාය ඉවත් කිරීමට ආරක්ෂක අමාත්යාංශය මගින් පියවර ගෙන තිබුණා.
