Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that he has not mentioned any qualifications that he did not obtain in any of his CVs, that he presented all the facts transparently, that he can verify the truthfulness of the statements made by consulting the relevant institutions in this regard, that he is responsible for everything he says and presents, and that if he has lied, he will resign from his position as MP, Opposition Leader and also resign from politics.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa made this statement in Parliament today, while presenting accurate certificates and documents related to his educational qualifications.
The Opposition Leader said that he started his pre-school education at St. Bridget’s Convent, attended St. Thomas’ Primary School from 1 to 5 and Royal College from 6 to 9, did not sit for the Ordinary Level Examination in this country, and that he even has certificates of resignation, was a junior student leader and a cricketer, and that he would table all those certificates.
The Opposition Leader said that he later studied at Millhill College in the United Kingdom and that he sat for the Ordinary Level examination in 1983 and 1984 and spread false propaganda by claiming that he had failed the Ordinary Level with a W9. At that time, there was no W grade, but that he had A and B grades. Those who spread the lie that he had failed the Ordinary Level can check these certificates, he said.
The Opposition Leader said that while studying at Milhill College, he was a house prefect in 1984, a school prefect in 1985, played cricket until 1986, and was even the secretary of the 1985 cricket team and the captain of the 1986 cricket team. He has evidence to that effect. He even obtained the school prize in 2 out of 3 A/L subjects, namely Political Science and Business Studies, in 1986. The A/L results will also be tabled, according to which there are two Bs and one C in A/L. Based on these results, he went to the University of London to pursue his degree and obtained his degree in 1991.
The Opposition Leader further stated that he has letters of recommendation and degree certificates from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and that he is pursuing a Master of Public Management course at the University of Maryland College Park in the United States. He sat for 8 subjects in 1991 and 1992, obtaining A grades in 6 subjects and B grades in 2 subjects, and that he will present them to Parliament. He returned to Sri Lanka on May 1, 1993, after the death of his father, and entered politics. While pursuing his Master’s degree in the United States, he worked as a volunteer for a senator named Larry Pressler for 2 years, and that he also has the relevant certificates.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa also stated that he was admitted to the Open University in 2021 and 2022, that the Prime Minister, who was a lecturer there, was aware of the basis for his admission, that he had completed a Master’s degree in Environmental Science there, and that he had also attended classes held by the Prime Minister there.

ඉන් පසුව එක්සත් රාජධානියේ මිල්හිල් විද්යාලයේ අධ්යාපනය හැදෑරු බවත් 1983 සහ 1984 කාලයේ සාමාන්ය පෙළ විභාගයට පෙනී සිටි බවත් තමා සාමාන්ය පෙළ අසමත් යැයි W9ක් ඇති බවට පවසමින් අසත්ය ප්රචාර ගෙන ගිය බවත් ඒ කාලයේ W යන සාමාර්ථ නොතිබූ බවත් A සාමාර්ථ සහ B සාමාර්ථ සහිත තිබූ බවත් තමා සාමාන්ය පෙළ අසමත් කියන බොරුව සමාජගත කරන අයට මේ සහතික පරීක්ෂා කළ හැකි බවත් විපක්ෂ නායකවරයා පැවසීය.
