The period given by the Electricity Employees’ Union to provide Christmas bonuses to the employees of the Lanka Electricity Board will end on December 10.
The employees’ union had informed the chairman of the board in a letter that steps should be taken to provide the Christmas bonuses before December 10.
They had pointed out that the previous administration had not taken steps to provide the bonus in the last two years and that this bonus should be provided since the Lanka Electricity Board is no longer a loss-making institution.
The general secretary of the union, Mr. Ranjan, recently stated that a request was made to the chairman to provide the bonus under the new government.

මණ්ඩලයේ සභාපතිවරයාට ලිපියක් යොමු කරමින් එම සේවක සංගමය දැනුම් දී තිබුණේ දෙසැම්බර් මස 10 වන දිනට පෙර නත්තල් ප්රසාද දීමනා ලබා දීමට කටයුතු කළ යුතු බවයි.
පසුගිය වසර දෙක තුළදීම ප්රසාද දීමනාව ලබාදීමට හිටපු පාලනාධිකාරිය කටයුතු නොකළ බවත් ලංකා විදුලි බල මණ්ඩලය තවදුරටත් පාඩු ලබන ආයතනයක් නොවන නිසා මෙම ප්රසාද් දීමනාව ලබාදිය යුතු බවත් ඔවුන් පෙන්වා දී තිබිණ.
නව රජය යටතේ එම ප්රසාද දීමනාව ලබාදෙන ලෙස සභාපතිවරයාගෙන් ඉල්ලීමක් කරන ලද බවද සංගමයේ ප්රධාන ලේකම් රන්ජන් මහතා පසුගියදා සඳහන් කලේය.
