A person has been arrested after raiding a place that makes fake number plates in the Negombo Road, Seeduwa area of the Seeduwa Police Division.
The raid was carried out this morning (29) based on a tip-off received by officers of the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Unit.
The suspect who was arrested is a 56-year-old resident of Siyambalagahawatta, Seeduwa.
The suspect was found in possession of 03 fake number plates, a sticker sheet with the logo of the Department of Motor Traffic, a sticker sheet with 67 republican emblems and a sticker sheet used in making number plates.
The Walana Central Anti-Corruption Unit is conducting further investigations.
ව්යාජ අංක තහඩු සැකසූ අයෙකුට වැඩ වරදී
සීදූව පොලිස් වසමේ මීගමුව පාර, සීදූව ප්රදේශයේ පවත්වාගෙන යනු ලබන ව්යාජ අංක තහඩු සකස් කරන ස්ථානයක් වටලා පුද්ගලයෙක් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන තිබේ.
අද (29) උදෑසන කාලයේ එම ස්ථානය වැටලීම සිදුකර තිබුණේ වලාන මධ්යම දූෂණ මර්ධන ප්රහාරක ඒකකයේ නිලධාරින්ට ලද තොරතුරකට අනුවය.
අත්අඩගුවට ගත් සැකකරු සියඹලාගහවත්ත, සීදූව ප්රදේශයේ පදිංචි 56 හැවිරිදි අයෙකි.
සැකකරු සන්තකයේ තිබී ව්යාජ ලෙස සකස් කරන ලද අංක තහඩු 03 ක්, මෝටර් රථ ප්රවාහන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ ලාංඡනය සහිත ස්ටිකර් කොලයක්, ජනරජ ලාංඡන 67ක් සහිත ස්ටිකර් කොලයක් සහ අංක තහඩු සකස් කිරීමේදී යොදාගන්නා ස්ටිකර් කොලයක් ඇතුළු දේපල පොලිස් භාරයට ගෙන ඇත.
වලාන මධ්යම දූෂණ මර්ධන ප්රහාරක ඒකකය වැඩිදුර විමර්ශන සිදුකරනු ලබයි.
