The United National Party has decided to contest several municipal councils under the “Elephant” symbol in the upcoming local government elections.
It is reported that they have reached this decision at the working committee meeting that was held.
The UNP Working Committee meeting was held at the Sirikotha party headquarters under the patronage of its leader, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Several new appointments have been made at this meeting and it is reported that matters related to the upcoming local government elections and the current political situation have also been discussed.
Accordingly, it has been proposed to contest 04 municipal councils under the “Elephant” symbol under the UNP in the upcoming local government elections.
It is reported that the proposal has received the agreement of the majority.
Accordingly, they have decided to contest the Colombo, Kandy, Galle, and Nuwara Eliya municipal councils under the “Elephant” symbol.
It is said that the working committee members have said that they can win power in these 4 municipal councils, which are more advantageous to the United National Party.
However, attention was also focused on competing for other local government institutions in alliance with other political parties.
Accordingly, discussions have been held regarding competing under a separate symbol and it is said that the working committee members have decided to take a final decision on this before the 20th.
Meanwhile, discussions have already begun between the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the United National Party and several rounds of discussions have been held.
බලය අල්ලන්න අලියා නැවත ශක්තිමත්ව කරළියට
ඉදිරි පළාත් පාලන මැතිවරණයේදී මහ නගර සභා කිහිපයක් සඳහා “අලියා” ලකුණ යටතේ තරග කිරීමට එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂය තීරණය කර තිබෙනවා.
රැස්වූ කෘත්යාධිකාරී රැස්වීමේදී ඔවුන් මෙම තීරණයට එළඹ ඇති බව සඳහන්.
එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂ කෘත්යාධිකාරී මණ්ඩල රැස්වීම සිරිකොත පක්ෂ මූලස්ථානයේදී එහි නායක හිටපු ජනාධිපති රනිල් වික්රමසිංහ මහතාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැත්වුණා.
මෙහිදී නව පත්වීම් කිහිපයක් සිදුකර ඇති අතර ඉදිරි පළාත් පාලන මැතිවරණය සහ වත්මන් දේශපාලන තත්ත්වය සම්බන්ධයෙන්ද කරුණු සාකච්ඡා වී ඇති බවට වාර්තා වනවා.
ඒ අනුව එළැඹෙන පළාත් පාලන මැතිවරණයේදී මහනගර සභා 04ක් සඳහා එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂය යටතේ “අලියා” ලකුණ යටතේ තරග කිරීමට යෝජනා වී තිබෙනවා.
එම යෝජනාවට බහුතරයකගේ එකඟතාව හිමිව ඇති බව වාර්තා වනවා.
ඒ අනුව “අලියා” ලකුණින් කොළඹ, මහනුවර, ගාල්ල, සහ නුවරඑළිය යන මහනගර සභා සඳහා තරග කිරීමට ඔවුන් තීරණය කර තිබෙනවා.
එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයට වැඩි වාසි සහගත මහනගර සභා 04ක් වන මෙම මහනගර සභාවල බලය තමන්ට හිමිකර ගත හැකි බව කෘත්යාධිකාරී මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයින් එහිදී පවසා තිබෙන බව පැවසෙනවා.
කෙසේ වෙතත් සෙසු පළාත් පාලන ආයතන සඳහා තරග කිරීම අනෙකුත් දේශපාලන පක්ෂ සමග සන්ධානගතව තරග කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන්ද මෙහිදී අවධානය යොමුව තිබුණා.
ඒ අනුව වෙනම ලකුණකින් තරග කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් සාකච්ඡා කර ඇති අතර එළැඹෙන 20 වැනිදාට ප්රථම ඊට අදාළ අවසන් තීරණයක් ගැනීමට කෘත්යාධිකාරී මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයින් තීරණය කර තිබෙන බවයි පැවෙසන්නේ.
මේ අතර මේ වනවිටත් සමගි ජන බලවේගය සහ එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂය අතර සාකච්ඡා ආරම්භ වී ඇති අතර සාකච්ඡා වට කිහිපයක්ද පවත්වා තිබෙනවා.
