President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that global climate problems are knocking on everyone’s doors, regardless of whether they are rich or poor, and that we must unite as global citizens to face the challenges that transcend borders.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake expressed these views while addressing the 2025 World Government Summit held in the United Arab Emirates on (12).
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake delivered his speech on the theme of Sri Lanka’s vision for economic growth, innovation and governance reforms. Sri Lanka’s commitment to sustainable development and international cooperation was emphasized.
Pointing out that this summit will provide a driving force in developing future strategies and plans in important areas related to humanity, the President said that a collective global action and a united front are needed to face global challenges.
Social justice and the rule of law are essential for a normative state and a world of action, and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake also stressed the importance of implementing agreements and laws in a proper manner, providing systematic support to low-income and vulnerable communities, and allowing free media and social activists to ensure accountability of officials.
The President emphasized the need for an updated Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, including digital access rights and environmental rights.
Pointing out that the global outlook has become extremely problematic with the tightening of conditions in global economic financing, large debt payments to be paid in the future, and the current international financial architecture being poorly prepared to face a widespread sovereign debt crisis, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake also pointed out the importance of transforming into financial reforms that can be reasonably adapted to the modern world.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who expressed his views on human-centric future development, pointed out the importance of the world moving towards a strong cybersecurity process. The President reminded that a formal program should be implemented to empower human resources who will lose their jobs due to the use of robots, identifying education, skill development and new job opportunities, and that global leaders should work collectively for this.
President Anura Dissanayake stated that ‘The problems we all face, as well as the “Love Dub” song in our hearts, are calling for us to come together and build the world.’
Quoting Martin Luther King’s statement that “We must learn to live together as brothers,” the President pointed out that the people of Sri Lanka also joined in 2024 to build a “beautiful life and a rich country.” Speaking at this historic summit, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake invited the delegates to the World Summit to “come together and create a beautiful life and a beautiful world.”

“අපි සහෝදරයන් ලෙස එකට ජීවත් වීමට ඉගෙන ගත යුතුය”යන මාර්ටින් ලූතර් කිං ගේ ප්රකාශය උපුටා දැක්වූ ජනාධිපතිවරයා, “ලස්සන ජීවිතයක් සහ පොහොසත් රටක්” ගොඩනැඟීමට ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ජනතාවද 2024 වසරේ දී එක් වූ බව පෙන්වා දුන්නේය. මෙම ඓතිහාසික සමුළුව හමුවේ අදහස් දැක්වූ ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා, “අපි එකට එකතු වී ලස්සන ජීවිතයක් සහ ලස්සන ලෝකයක් නිර්මාණය කරමු” යැයි ලෝක රාජ්ය සමුළු නියෝජිතයින්ට ආරාධනා කර සිටියේය.
