of government holidays, as well as the delay in the start of the first term of schools, the annual school attendance requirement of 210 days for students in government schools, government-approved private schools and Pirivenas has been reduced to 181 days in the new year 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ministry of Education said that the school year for 2025 will technically start on January 27, as the first three weeks of school will be held from January 2 to 24 to complete the third term for the 2024 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, out of the 26 public holidays for 2025, only four fall on weekends, with all the others falling on weekdays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ministry states that therefore, it is not possible to hold classes for 210 days and has granted permission to limit school days to 181 for 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
