Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe says that the tax imposed on imported rice is not being done out of concern for the local farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister points out that there is a discussion underway to remove the control price for a short period of time to resolve the problems that have arisen due to the rise in the dollar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also states that this has created a risk that consumers will have to buy rice at higher prices again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe also states that he is concerned about whether there is any scope for making rice available in the market in a way that does not affect the farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister said this while commenting on the request to remove the tax imposed on imported rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
