The Central Bank of Sri Lanka\u2019s Policy Statement for 2025 and beyond states that the risk associated with lending by banks and financial institutions is decreasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This policy statement was announced by the Governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, yesterday (08).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Central Bank Governor stated that efforts will be made to maintain the economy stable around the 5 percent target in the coming period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weerasinghe said that the risk situation caused by the impact of changes in supply-side prices will continue in the first half of this year and that inflation is expected to reach its target by the end of next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The policy statement presented by the Governor of the Central Bank further states that the risks associated with lending by banks and financial institutions are currently decreasing, and that the Central Bank is working closely with banks and other financial institutions to reduce the current high interest rates in the market so that loans can be obtained at low interest rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has been informed that the Central Bank has also focused on developing new methods to increase savings in the context of a rapidly aging population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
